WPS is changing how copays are applied in certain situations, beginning with services provided on or after Jan. 1, 2023. When a nurse practitioner or physician assistant is acting in a specialist role, we will apply the copay for specialists if it is different from that applied to primary care. This may result in a change in how your copay has been assigned in the past; however, this action is correct according to the customer’s benefit plan. If you think an employee might be unable to meet a standard for a reward under this wellness program, the employee might qualify for an opportunity to earn the same reward by different means.
